Project Goals

Five parcels of vacant, City-owned land selected for new homeownership opportunities as part of the City of Boston's Neighborhood Homes Initiative, which uses City-owned land to create affordable homeownership opportunities for middle-class homebuyers.

As a result of community meetings with the Mount Pleasant Neighborhood Association and the neighborhood, there will be two single-family homes, one two-family and two duplex-style homes constructed on these sites, creating eight new units of housing. One of the duplex buildings will be sold as market rate and the other four buildings have been sold to income qualified first-time homebuyers through a lottery process.

This project is going through a zoning review with the Boston Planning and Development Agency (BPDA). Then we’ll work with the Developer on funding, design, and compliance.
