Climate Ready East Boston Open House

Join our second community open house to learn about the vision for Climate Ready East Boston. See how the project has progressed since the last open house, ask questions, and give feedback to the design team.

Climate Ready Boston is the Mayor's ongoing initiative to help the City grow and prosper in the face of climate change. Protecting East Boston from sea level rise and coastal flooding is a high priority. Through Climate Ready East Boston, we are working to better understand flood risk in East Boston. We want to develop strategies to protect the neighborhood now and in the future.

The map below shows the pathways flooding would follow from low points on the waterfront into the heart of the community. The arrows identify current and future entry points where we can stop the flooding before it starts.

Climate Ready East Boston Flood Entry Map

Based on feedback from the last open house, this second map illustrates a vision for East Boston. The map features interventions along the waterfront that can increase safety while providing other benefits to the community. We need your help to further develop these solutions. Join us on July 13 to lean more and explore the possibilities!
