Heat Resilience Study Neighborhood Idea Sessions - East Boston

Are you looking for ways to support climate action in your neighborhood? Join a neighborhood idea session to support the development of the City of Boston's Heat Resilience Study.

Climate Ready is holding neighborhood idea sessions to talk about ways to  protect residents from the impacts of hotter days due to climate change.

Neighborhood Idea Session Dates:

  • Mattapan: Tuesday, June 15, 6 - 7 p.m.
  • Roxbury: Wednesday, June 16, 6 - 7 p.m.
  • Chinatown: Thursday, June 17, 6 - 7 p.m.
  • Dorchester: Wednesday, June 21, 6 - 7 p.m.
  • East Boston: Thursday, June 22, 6 - 7 p.m.

The Climate Ready Boston team is working to protect Boston from the impacts of climate change, like extreme heat. You can take action by sharing your ideas to help inform the solutions. Together our plan will develop solutions to cool the city and keep Bostonians safe.

Today in Boston, we have around 11 days a year where it's more than 90 degrees outside. By 2030, we could have 20 to 40 days above 90 degrees, with up to five days above 100 degrees. By 2070, we could have anywhere from 25 to 90 days above 90 degrees, with up to 33 days above 100 degrees!

We are holding individual meetings to talk about opportunities for heat resilience solutions in five of Boston's hottest neighborhoods: Chinatown, Dorchester, East Boston, Mattapan, and Roxbury. These neighborhoods can experience summer temperatures between 2-6 degrees higher than the City average.
