Join the Mayor's Office of Arts and Culture and Poet Laureate Danielle Legros Georges for two free events in collaboration with Boston Literary District's Lit Crawl 2017 at Emerson College's Urban Arts Media Art Gallery.

The first event will be a reading from the recent release, “City of Notions: An Anthology of Contemporary Boston Poems”, a collection that salutes aspects of everyday life in Boston including City Hall, Mass Ave., the MBTA, Storrow Drive, the Boston Marathon, and Star Market. Nearly sixty poets contributed to the anthology and run the spectrum from up-to-now unpublished authors to former U.S. Poets laureate, all contributing a taste of their personal versions of Boston. In addition to the poet laureate, contributors include Robert Pinsky, Mary Oliver, Margaret Atwood, Gail Mazur, Nick Flynn, Stephen Burt, and Julia Alvarez.

Danielle Legros Georges and several contributing poets will read their work from “City of Notions” at this memorable event. Immediately following the event will be, "Words & Music. Variation on a theme", featuring Shaker Flynn, Kristin Hersh, Clea Simon, and Kelle Groom.

Both events are free and open to the public.
