Tito Puente Latin Music Series: Metrobar Project with Mike Ringquist and Marcus Santos

The Tito Puente Latin Music Series is celebrating 11 years of bringing live Latin music with a strong salsa influence to Boston parks.

The events take place Thursdays in July and August at outdoor locations across Boston. The six-concert Tito Puente Latin Music Series presents a soundscape of live Latin music with a strong salsa influence in parks around the City. The series is coproduced by Berklee, City of Boston Parks and Recreation Department, and IBA Boston. Performers include:

  • Berklee faculty, students, and alumni, and
  • world-renowned artists.

There are free salsa lessons led by MetaMovements at select concerts.

About Metrobar Project

This dynamic duo introduces a new approach to world rhythms, combining the sounds of Hip-Hop, Brazilian Samba, and Cuban Makuta. Their energetic show blends drumming with life experiences to explore “the language of ethnic hand percussion.” The group also invites “aNova Brazil,” a 12-piece afrobrazilian drumming group, to join in the concert, as well as audience members, to create a powerful and collaborative experience for everyone.
