Eilisha Manandhar joined the Office of Food Access as the BOSFoodLove Program Coordinator in September 2018. She arrived at OFA after two years of service with AmeriCorps at City Year Boston in two BPS schools in Roxbury. Her work with BPS students in underserved communities was driven by her passion for education and social justice. She strongly believes in the power of youth and equipping them with the tools necessary to succeed — accessing healthy, nutritious, and culturally relevant foods being an important piece.
Eilisha was born in Banepa, Nepal, where her connection and passion for food was imbedded. After immigrating to the United States, her love for food blossomed and motivated her to seek a Bachelor’s of Science in Dietetics and Global Health at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Her belief that health is a basic human right motivates her to ensure resources for good health is accessible, equitable, culturally relevant, and affordable, especially those of marginalized populations.
