Jessica Rodriguez is a native Bostonian and daughter to parents from El Salvador. She is a homeowner in Hyde Park. She is an alumni of the Boston Public Schools (Rafael Hernandez and Fenway High School), where she received a Spanish bilingual education. She graduated from the College of the Holy Cross in 2015 with a bachelor’s degree in English and a concentration in Women’s and Gender Studies.
Never picturing herself in politics, she took a chance when she was encouraged to be civically engaged during her time volunteering with the Chica Project. When presented with the opportunity in 2016 to work as Policy and Research Assistant in Councilor Annissa Essaibi-George’s office, she took it. In addition to being the Councilor’s Chief of Staff, she is also the administrator for the Councilor’s budget process and Education Committee work.
