Jacob Wessel currently serves as the Director of City Hall to Go in Mayor Martin J. Walsh's Civic Engagement Cabinet. City Hall to Go's mobile City Hall visits Boston’s neighborhoods throughout the year and offers services directly to constituents in addition to pop-up engagement workshops with City departments. Wessel also works on pedestrian-oriented open streets initiatives and organizing the Mayor's Open House program.
Prior to this role, Wessel was the liaison for Back Bay, Beacon Hill, Fenway, and Mission Hill in the Mayor's Office of Neighborhood Services, where he led and facilitated neighborhood outreach regarding City service delivery, zoning variances, licensing, permitting, and community benefits.
Wessel, a native of Los Angeles, previously worked as a Research Director for the Massachusetts Democratic Party and as a field organizer for Senator Ed Markey. He graduated with a degree in political science from Tufts University.
