Jullieanne Doherty Lee

Executive Director

Jullieanne Doherty Lee brings to the team over 15 years’ experience in government administration and community engagement. Jullieanne was one of Boston’s first LGBTQ+ Liaisons in the Mayor's Office of Neighborhood Services. Jullieanne served as Jamaica Plain’s Neighborhood Coordinator for 6 years promoting the importance of community and grassroots advocacy. Continuing her public service path, Jullieanne was the Director of Outreach & Engagement at the City of Boston's Age Strong Commission with a focus on uplifting and engaging the most isolated communities. Presently, as the Mayor’s Office of LGBTQ+ Advancement Executive Director, she works with a dynamic team to strategically develop and implement the office’s mission, framework, and community impact.

The City of Boston honored Jullieanne Doherty Lee as one of Boston’s Civic Heroes.  The Civic Heroes project honored several of the many city employees who work tirelessly to keep Boston going. Jullieanne has also been recognized by the Mayor's Office of Women's Advancement as one of Boston's EXTRAordinary women.

As a Boston native and Boston Public Schools alum, Jullieanne learned to read in her local Boston Public Library, visited family in Mexico, learned about space at the Museum of Science, and ultimately followed in her mother’s footsteps to serve as a community leader. Jullieanne enjoys swimming on the Cape, talking to her dad about Star Wars, trying out the latest Korean restaurant with her wife Seol, and picking up her daughter Harper from kindergarten at BPS while lip syncing in the car ride home.  *Throws rainbow glitter*
