Learn about the Boston EMS Fellowship Program

This Fellowship program is a one-year, ACGME accredited program offered in conjunction with Boston Medical Center and the West Roxbury VA Hospital.  The program provides qualified physicians training and education in all aspects of emergency medical services including operations, training, research, administration, and treatment.

THE FELLOWSHIP

EMS physicians play a vital role in the ongoing design, development, operation, and evaluation of EMS systems from initial patient access to definitive patient care. Throughout this Fellowship, participants support the Medical Director and the Associate Medical Directors with daily operations as well as training. They also have the flexibility to structure research projects around specific areas of interest within emergency medical care. This Fellowship Program prepares physicians to be leaders in the field of emergency medicine and to conduct all aspects of EMS system medical direction.

After successful completion, the fellow will become eligible to sit for the American Board of Medical Specialties board certification examination in EMS Medicine.
