South Boston resident supports older resident
My mother works for Eastern Bank currently facilitating the government stimulus Paycheck Protection Program.
While working her hardest to provide any assistance of relief during COVID-19, she noticed that a regular customer of hers, an older adult who lives alone, hadn’t been in contact with anyone for several days.
After calling and leaving voicemails, my mother put on her jacket, facemask, and gloves to go to the customer’s house to check on her. Right as she was about to leave our house, the customer returned her call to ensure she was doing just fine and express her gratitude for my mother’s concern and kindness. My mother practiced resilience by checking in on someone in her community.
To me, resilience is the capacity of a person, community, or infrastructure to bounce back. To recover from a challenge or hardship.
