Outreach and Community Engagement Coordinator

As the Outreach and Community Engagement Coordinator, Carol works with city departments, community-based organizations, legal service providers, and foreign consulates to serve the immigrant community. Before assuming that role, Carol joined MOIA as the AmeriCorps VISTA to coordinate and to launch the Immigrant Information Corners at all 24 Boston Public Library ( BPL)  branches. These corners provide informational materials about immigration, financial empowerment, and other community resources. Carol continues to be the liaison between U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), BPL, Mayor’s Office of Financial Empowerment (OFE), and community partners and to develop programming for the immigrant community at the libraries. Carol is a native speaker of Spanish and is proficient in French.
