Due to a rising COVID-19 infection rate in the City, all Boston Public Schools students will shift to remote learning effective Thursday, October 22.

City Hall is open to the public on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. If you need to visit a department, you must make an appointment.

Sebastian Zapata

Senior Analyst and Census Liaison

Sebastian Zapata currently serves as Senior Analyst and Census Liaison, where he is tasked with executing the City of Boston’s multi-sector and citywide operation to achieve a complete and accurate count of Bostonians regarding the U.S. 2020 Census. Previous to this role, he joined the City of Boston in early 2017 as Deputy Director of State Relations. Sebastian worked with the Mayor and all City departments to determine the Mayor’s legislative and state budget agenda. Sebastian assisted in implementing the Mayor’s vision for Boston at the state level.

Prior to joining the City of Boston, Sebastian served as Program Director at The Alliance for Business Leadership and as a Legislative Aide in State Representative Liz Malia’s office. As program director, Sebastian worked with progressive business leaders to advance environmental and transportation matters around Massachusetts. As a legislative aide to Representative Malia, Sebastian was tasked with constituent casework, community building, following the budget process, and tracking legislation.

Sebastian is currently pursuing a Master's in Urban Planning and Policy from Northeastern University and graduated with a B.S. from UMass Amherst where he majored in Political Science and minored in Sociology.
