Gideon Emmanuel

Strategic Initiatives Manager, Mayor's Office

As Strategic Initiatives Manager, Gideon Emmanuel works on special projects in the gap between policy and implementation and supports the Mayor’s Chief of Staff and Deputy Chief of Staff in their efforts to build government capacity to deliver on the Mayor’s Transformation Agenda. He also co-leads the Mayor’s Youth Sports Initiative alongside Anshi Moreno Jimenez.

Before this role, Gideon worked in Software Project Management for EveryAction/NGPVAN, where he built software to help progressive non-profits fundraise and political organizers run campaigns. He has a Master’s in Urban and Environmental Policy and Planning from Tufts University. While in grad school he had his first taste of local government as a Summer Fellow for the Mayor’s Office of New Urban Mechanics.

Gideon lives in Hyde Park with his wife and two kids and relishes every opportunity to run in Stonybrook Reservation, bike commute into City Hall, and play tennis in Wieder Park.
