Parking placards for media and City workers

Placards give you the ability to park in more spaces in the City of Boston. There are different rules for members of the media and City workers.

For media members, parking placards give you the ability to park in “Commercial Only” spaces in the City. You can learn more through our media parking placard policy page.

Please keep in mind:
  • You must apply every year for a new placard.
  • You need to get approval from your supervisor. Please make sure they review your form and information before you submit.

After you submit your application, your supervisor needs to email a copy of your registration and license to carla.tankle@boston.gov.

Review policy for City of Boston workers

Aside from giving you the ability to park in more spaces in the City, you can get certain tickets dismissed for non-public safety violations. You can learn more through our City worker parking placard policy page.

Please keep in mind:
  • You must apply every year for a new placard.
  • You need to get approval from your supervisor. Please make sure they review your form and information before you submit.
