2018 demographics
Eighty percent of Boss Up participants identified as:
- A child of a single parent
- Having poor academic performance
- Having a disability or an IEP
- Being from an immigrant family or an immigrant,
- Not speaking English fluently
- A Teen parent
- Currently experiencing homelessness
- Current foster youth
- Past foster youth
- Court-involved
- Having a Child Requiring Assistance (CRA) involved
Personal strengths
Eighty-three percent of Boss Up Participants ranked themselves as extremely strong in the following areas after receiving training:
- initiative
- dependability
- communication, and
- collaboration.
Seventy-two percent of Boss Up Participants ranked themselves as extremely strong in the following areas after receiving training:
- jobs and career readiness
- employer expectations
- how to look for a job, and
- understanding strengths and skills.
