We are installing temporary takeout food pickup zones throughout the City of Boston.

The public health crisis caused by COVID-19 has placed an immense hardship on Boston's food establishments and small businesses. To help restaurants with their takeout food operations, and make it easier for customers to access these restaurants, we are installing temporary takeout food pickup zones throughout the City of Boston.

Temporary Takeout Food Pickup Zones will:

  • Limit parking to 5 minutes;
  • Reserve the curb space for actively picking up food and other goods; and
  • Increase space for social distancing.

Violations of these zones should be reported to 311. Violators of the zones are subject to ticketing and towing.

If you are the owner or manager of a restaurant that would like one of these zones installed, please fill out our form. Applications are reviewed as they are received. Approval and installation may take several weeks.
