Aberdeen Architectural Conservation District Commission Hearing

The Commission will hold its monthly public hearing on Thursday, March 9, 2017.

(Use Congress Street as an entrance and exit at City Hall after 5:30p.m.)

    17.714 AB - 1954 Commonwealth Avenue
    Applicant: Cliff Boehmer, Davis Square Architects
    Proposed Work: Move the historic single-family residence forward on the lot, reconstruct the front porch and porte cochère, modify the detached garage, and construct a five-story rear yard addition with a lower level parking garage, rooftop mechanical equipment and an elevator bulkhead; replace windows and garage doors; restore the façades and tile roofs; install a below-grade transformer in the front yard; modify the existing driveway into an accessible ramp; remove a portion of the historic stone wall, relocate the curb cut, and install a new double width driveway on the east side of the lot; install shrubs in the front and rear yards; install an iron fence along the perimeter of the property; replace the concrete entry walkway, sidewalk and granite curb in-kind; and relocate a street light.

    Applicant: Sherry Clancy, Cleveland Circle Development Assoc. LLC
    Proposed Work: Modify the paving surfaces, traffic lights, sidewalks, and landscaping, and adding bicycle lanes.

    Applicant: Ricardo Sousa, Prince Lobel Tye LLP
    Proposed Work: Install three telecommunication antennas and three remote radio head units, equipment, and cabling on the rooftop penthouse.

    17.880 AB - 1871-1875 Commonwealth Avenue: Repair deteriorated sections of the fire escapes and install new structural brackets and bolts in select locations, paint black to match existing, and if necessary repoint select locations at the steel attachments.
