About BAHEC

The Boston Area Health Education Center, or BAHEC, is part of the Massachusetts Area Health Education Center Network. The network is a statewide effort to address health disparities through workforce development.

Founded in 1978, BAHEC was the first program of its kind in the city of Boston. Our goal is to increase racial, ethnic, and linguistic diversity in Boston’s health care workforce. To achieve this goal, we support Boston youth interested in pursuing health and public health careers.

We develop, implement, and facilitate enrichment programs year-round for high school students. Our programming focuses on professional development, public health, and health career exploration through a health equity lens.
