Electrical Fire Alarms Permits

You need an Electrical Fire Alarm Permit to install a new fire alarm system, alter an existing one, replace a fire alarm panel, or replace phone communicator devices.

Fire alarm systems involve multiple permits and fire safety. We recommend hiring a Fire Protection Engineer to help you with the process before applying for a Fire Alarm Permit. To speak with a Boston Fire Department Fire Protection Engineer for guidance, call 617-343-2043.
