Hello Boston!

Boston is heating up with an action-packed season of events. This summer, we’re hosting the FIFA World Cup, welcoming the Tall Ships back to the Harbor, and commemorating the 250th anniversary of our country’s founding. We’re so excited to celebrate with everyone—and especially all of you!

On top of these once-in-a-lifetime events, we’ve created a guide for all our free, annual programming. Stay active with our summer fitness series, join us for an outdoor concert or movie night in the park, or take a park ranger-led tour to learn more about our beautiful green spaces. Be sure to also check out your local farmers markets for some fresh summer produce!

In this issue, we are proud to profile one of our incredible Age Strong partners, the Cape Verdean Association of Boston. CVAB supports our local Cape Verdean diaspora through advocacy, youth leadership, and immigrant services. (Congratulations to Cape Verde for qualifying for their first-ever World Cup!)

Finally, the state primary elections are coming up on September 1st. Your voice and vote will help shape the decisions that affect our communities. So, we’ve included all the information you need to get ready—including voter registration deadlines, how to participate in our local census, and opportunities to work the polls.

This is going to be an unforgettable summer, Boston. See you out in community!
