Gayle Willett is the Commissioner of the City of Boston Assessing Department. The Assessing Department is responsible for determining the fair market value of over 157 thousand parcels of real and personal property annually. In Boston, the annual property tax levy of over $2 billion accounts for nearly seventy percent of the City’s total revenues.
Ms. Willett holds a degree in political science from the University of Massachusetts. Prior to her appointment as Commissioner, Gayle served in a variety of roles including the Director of Valuation in the Assessing department.
