Our department directs all municipal, state, and federal elections within Boston. As part of our work, we also register voters, conduct an annual census, and educate the public on voting.
Register to vote
The deadline to register to vote in the upcoming General Municipal Election on Tuesday, November 4, is October 25, 2025. You have until 5 p.m. to register to vote in-person, and until 11:59 p.m. to register to vote online. If you register to vote by mail, it must be postmarked by Saturday, October 25, 2025.
