Our department directs all municipal, state, and federal elections within Boston. As part of our work, we also register voters, conduct an annual census, and educate the public on voting.
Upcoming election: state Primary - Tuesday, September 6, 2022
Voter registration deadline: Saturday, August 27
- In-person by 5 p.m.
- Register to vote online by 11:59 p.m.
- By mail, must be postmarked by Saturday, August 27
New City of Boston Precinct Lines:
The City of Boston has announced new polling locations following October reprecincting. The new precinct structure focuses on equity across voting populations in each precinct to reduce wait times and increase voter access.
