Ron Rakow is the Commissioner of the City of Boston Assessing Department. The Assessing Department is responsible for determining the fair market value of over 156 thousand parcels of real and personal property annually. In Boston, the annual property tax levy of over $2 billion accounts for nearly seventy percent of the City’s total revenues.

Mr. Rakow holds a degree in economics from Boston University as well as a graduate certificate in administration and management from Harvard University.
