National Hispanic Heritage Month
As part of National Hispanic Heritage Month, we're spotlighting City employees making a difference. We have more information on events happening during the month:
Naida Faria
Naida has worked for the City of Boston for more than11 years. Naida Faria is currently the Grant Administrator at the Mayor’s Department of Environment, Energy, and Open Space where she manages the coordination of grants from start to finish, and other accounts. Naida strives to bring an equity lense into her work on a daily basis. For example, Naida often spends her lunchtime working with her department’s Climate and Equity Group to put in place new policies for procurement.
When not at work, Naida enjoys drawing, crafting, and DIY projects! Naida is a reef enthusiast and has a 120-gallon saltwater aquarium. Although Naida was born and raised in Western Massachusetts, she is proud to now be a resident of Dorchester.
I am a member of the Latinx ERG because…I get to engage with people who look like me and speak my language. The ERG gives me a chance to connect to people that I wouldn’t connect to in my day-to-day work. It gives me a sense of community in a workplace setting.
