    NOTICE OF PUBLIC COMMENT PERIOD AND PUBLIC HEARING

    BOSTON CANNABIS BOARD DRAFT RULES AND REGULATIONS

    You are hereby notified that the Boston Cannabis Board (the “BCB”) will hold a public comment period regarding draft rules and regulations (the “Draft Rules and Regulations”) beginning Wednesday, June 17, 2020 at 8:00am and ending Wednesday, July 15, 2020 at 11:59pm. 

    A copy of the Draft Rules and Regulations will be posted by 11:59 p.m. on Thursday, June 18, 2020. They can now be downloaded online:

    All notices herein will also be posted with City Clerk. 

    Public comment may be submitted via electronic correspondence to cannabisboard@boston.gov, in writing directed to the Boston Cannabis Board, One City Hall Square, Room 817, Boston, MA 02201, or via public testimony before BCB as noted herein. The BCB does not give more weight to one form of public comment than another. In person testimony is not given more weight than public comment submitted in writing.

    The BCB will hold a virtual hearing on Wednesday, July 8, 2020 at 1:00pm to solicit testimony regarding the Draft Rules and Regulations. Any individual seeking to testify before the BCB at this hearing is urged to email cannabisboard@boston.gov to ensure all individuals can be called to testify in an organized manner.

    The BCB will hold a subsequent public hearing on July 22, 2020 at 1:00pm to discuss and adopt the Draft Rules and Regulations.

    This process is being conducted pursuant to M.G.L. ch. 30A and all virtual public hearings are held pursuant to Governor Charles Baker’s executive order (the “Order”) issued March 22, 2020, temporarily modifying certain requirements of the Open Meeting Law (M.G.L. ch. 30A s. 20) due to the ongoing public health crisis due to Covid-19 (coronavirus).
