Tree removal hearing - Government Center

Parks and Recreation will hold a tree removal hearing on February 1 at 10 a.m.

  1. Proposed removal of six public shade trees on Bowker Street due to the redevelopment of the Government Center Garage in downtown Boston.

    The hearing will be held at 10 a.m. in the 3rd floor Conference Room of the Boston Parks and Recreation Department located at 1010 Massachusetts Avenue, Roxbury. The trees that would be removed are five Ginkgo biloba trees measuring from 6 to 14 inches dbh (diameter at breast height) and one honey locust tree measuring 3 inches dbh.

    The public hearing will be held by the City of Boston’s Tree Warden (or designee). Public testimony will be taken at the hearing, or may be provided prior to the hearing in writing to the Tree Warden, Boston Parks and Recreation Department, 1010 Massachusetts Avenue, 3rd floor, Boston, MA 02118 or by emailing parks@boston.gov with “Government Center Tree Hearing” in the subject line.
