How to get emergency alerts

How to get emergency alerts

If you sign up to get alerts, we’ll let you know when there is an emergency in the City. You have a couple of options:

Step
1

Before you get started

ALERTBoston is the City’s emergency notification system. If you don't sign up, you may still get alerts on your landline number if it's publicly listed. Make sure to tell us if your contact information changes. We'll never share your information with other organizations.

Step
2

Sign up for alerts on our website

You can sign up on the ALERTBoston homepage. Get text or email alerts, or both. Just enter your information and remember to check the terms and conditions box before you submit.

You'll get a confirmation text or email once you submit the form.

Sign up for voice alerts on our site

Visit our ALERTBoston website to sign up. Once you create a login name and password, you'll be able to manage your information. Remember to pick the neighborhoods you want to get alerts for, and what type of alerts you need.

For voice alerts, we call the phone number that you give us. We'll leave a message on your voicemail if you don't answer.
