Licensing rules and regulations

Learn about the rules and regulations behind the Licensing department.

We're responsible for following and enforcing licensing laws. Read the full list of licensing rules and regulations.

You may have to wait up to two weeks for us to approve certain events. When you apply, you need to give us two weeks notice for:

  • permit requests
  • extension of hours
  • extension of premises
  • all licenses
  • one-day specials
  • license amendments, and
  • some other requests.

By giving us two weeks notice, we have time to schedule hearings and make our decision. It also helps us meet the state’s Open Meeting Law. We won’t take any requests that come to us less than 48 hours before an event.

We operate under the following State laws:

We also follow the state Alcoholic Beverage Control Commission’s regulations and advisories.
