Ramadan Mubarak! City Council extends best wishes to Muslims

Ramadan is the holy month of fasting and spiritual renewal for Muslims worldwide.

Ramadan is a time to reflect spiritually, build communally, and aid those who are struggling financially. One of the purposes of fasting during the holy month of Ramadan is for Muslims to gain a better understanding of the plight faced by people living in poverty.

During this week’s Council meeting, the Council adopted a resolution to extend best wishes to Muslims all over the world for a joyous and meaningful observance of Ramadan. Ramadan begins at dusk on March 23, 2023, and lasts for one lunar month, with the first and last dates determined by the lunar Islamic calendar.
