DESIGNER CONSULTING SERVICES FOR BOSTON ACTIVE CEMETERIES EXPANSION MASTER PLAN

The City of Boston, acting by the Boston Parks and Recreation Department, 1010 Massachusetts Avenue, 3rd Floor, Boston, MA 02118, hereinafter referred to as the Awarding Authority, is requesting  designer services, including site analysis, schematic plan, master plan and cost estimates for the project listed above. 

 

All submissions are subject to all applicable provisions of law, and in accordance with the terms and provisions of the contract documents entitled: Designer Consulting Services for Boston Active Cemeteries Expansion Master Plan.

This RFQ seeks qualified consultant teams to develop a comprehensive Active Cemetery Expansion Master Plan for Mount Hope, Fairview, and Evergreen Cemeteries in Boston. The project will evaluate existing conditions, future burial capacity needs, infrastructure, environmental and historic considerations, and opportunities for traditional and alternative interment methods while preserving the cemeteries as important public and cultural landscape resources. Through a collaborative planning and public engagement process, the selected team will deliver a phased, implementable plan with supporting graphics and cost estimates to guide future improvements and investment. 

The RFQ documents will be available beginning Monday, June 1, 2026 after 12:00 P.M., Boston time, and may be obtained by requesting access via email at BPRDBids@boston.gov.

Completed responses must be submitted on or before 2:00 P.M., Boston time, Friday, June 26, 2026. For detailed information on submission requirements please refer to the RFQ.
