Install Or Replace A Sign On Your Business
If you’re repairing or installing a sign for your business, you’ll need either a Short-Form or a Long-Form permit depending on if the sign is new. You’ll also need an Electrical Permit for any lighting or bulbs in your sign.
Who can install or repair a sign?
Only a contractor with a valid, non-expired Massachusetts trade license may apply for an Electrical Permit and perform any electrical work related to installing signs.
We recommend you hire a contractor who can perform all steps of the installation.
What permits do I need?
Electrical Permit
- To install or repair any electrical wiring or services.
Short-Form Permit
- If the work is being done on an existing sign.
OR
