Project Goals

This ~3,800 sq. ft. parcel has been in use under license for urban agriculture for several years, and a Request for Proposals was issued in November 2020 to solicit proposals to permanently preserve this site for urban food production. One proposal was received in January, and the latest proposed design can be found below in the slides from the recent Developer Presentation..

This is an undeveloped lot owned by the City of Boston’s Department of Neighborhood Development.

The Department of Neighborhood Development acquires surplus and foreclosed property and is responsible for managing this real estate. We work to create housing and open space by making that land available to Bostonians over time through a public Request for Proposals process. This parcel of land is not yet planned for development, but stay tuned!
