Caitlin Lowrie

Boston Art Commission member

Caitlin (she/her) is currently the Director of Exhibitions at the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum where she oversees the planning and production of both historic and contemporary exhibitions. In her role she works with curators, artists, educators, and designers to create meaningful and impactful installations. Before coming to the Gardner, Caitlin worked at the Peabody Essex Museum, the Smithsonian American Art Museum, and at various galleries and art and culture-centered organizations. She is passionate about creating spaces that are inclusive and about making connections between art and community.

Caitlin earned her BA in Art History and English from Bucknell University and her MA in Art History from American University. She is originally a west-coaster, but has called Charlestown her home for the past fourteen years. And while her three young kids keep her very busy, when she can find a spare moment, she loves baking and finding any excuse to be by the water.
