BCYF Vacation Week Activities

Boston Centers for Youth & Families (BCYF) community centers host programs and events during school vacation weeks.

Please contact your local BCYF center for more information or to sign up for any programs. We'll be continuing to add activities as they get scheduled, so remember to check back on this page!

Open Gym

Tuesday through Friday, we're holding Dodgeball, basketball, and flag football tournaments:

  • Ages 12 and under, 11 a.m. - 2 p.m.
  • Ages 17 and under, 2 - 5 p.m.
  • Adult, 6 - 9 p.m.
Computer Lab

Senior, youth, and teen hours to be determined

Youth and Teen Center

Tuesday through Friday, we'll have movies, a video game competition, pool tournament, pizza party, arts and crafts, and other activities.

  • Ages 17 and under, 11 a.m. - 2 p.m.
  • Ages 12 and under, 2 - 5 p.m.
  • 6 - 9 p.m. - events, workshops
    Pool

    The pool is open Wednesday through Friday:

    • Family and recreational swim: 2:30 - 5 p.m.
    • Regular scheduled programming: 6 - 9 p.m.

    School-Aged Child Care

    There is full-day, out-of-school time programming during the February School vacation week. This EEC-licensed program serves children in Kindergarten, ages 4-5, and school-aged children, 6-12.

    • Tuesday through Friday, 8 a.m. - 6 p.m., $205 for the week.

    Tiny Tots Program

    New! BCYF Roslindale will offer its EEC-Licensed Tiny Tots program Tuesday through Friday during school vacation weeks.  This program serves children 2.9 years through Kindergarten age from 8 a.m. - 12 p.m. The fee is $30 per day. Please call at 617-635-5185 for information about registration.

      Come Try Wheelchair Basketball
      • Wednesday, April 17, 12 - 2 p.m.
      • This is a free event. Court Sport wheelchairs will be available for use

      Join Spaulding staff and volunteers for a chance to try wheelchair basketball, a sport designed for athletes of all abilities. We will focus on:

      • chair mobility skill work
      • ball handling drills, and
      • live game play.

      Wheelchair users and ambulatory participants are welcome. Able-bodied friends or family members are encouraged to play. If you are a seasoned bask` out!

      Spring Time Basketball Shootout
      • 16 and under
      • Double Elimination Basketball Tournament
      • $150 per team - Eight-team tournament - First-come, first-served
      • All players must be BCYF members

      Vacation week program for 6-12 year olds

      Pre-registration is required and begins April 1. Program runs 8 a.m. - 6 p.m. Fees for the week, including all special events, are:

      • Members: $150 per child
      • Non-members: $200 per child

      • Arrive by 9 a.m. Burgers and hotdogs will be provided for lunch. Please pack snacks.

      • Earth Day at BCYF Nazzaro
      • Arrive by 9 a.m. We will be at the center all day. Please pack a lunch and snacks.
      Thursday April 18
      • Improv Asylum Workshop
      • Arrive by 9 a.m. We will provide pizza for lunch. Please pack snacks.
      Friday April 19
      • James and the Giant Peach Play at Wheelock Theater at Boston University
      • Arrive by 9 a.m. Please pack a lunch snacks or money for snacks at the theater.
      Kids Rock Member Field Trips
      • April 17: Movies
      • April 19: Ipswich Bird Sanctuary
