Wael (Lilo) Altali

Research Assistant

Lilo is pursuing a Ph.D. at the School for Global Inclusion and Social Development at UMASS Boston. He is also an Assistant Teaching Professor and Principal instructor at Northeastern University. Lilo has extensive experience leading innovation projects across the nonprofit sector and has developed innovation processes for notable NGOs, including TSNE MissionWorks, Ceres, and the United Way. In 2020, Bridge Innovate awarded Lilo the “Innovation for Good” leadership award. Lilo has also developed an “Innovation Leadership” program at Nichols College, where he taught for four years. Lilo holds the Project Management Professional (PMP) designation and is currently on the Project Management Institute review board developing the next Standard in Program Management. In addition, Lilo developed and taught courses in Program Management at Clark University. Lilo’s research areas focus on innovation management, gig/platform work, community development, and NGO development programs. At the BHRC, Lilo’s community-centered research focuses on community public safety and hate crime reporting.
