The City of Boston Environment Department invites community leaders, researchers, agencies, policymakers, and businesses to a free summit exploring the present and future of air quality in Boston and beyond.
On Friday, May 15, join fellow leaders to map the ecosystem of past and current air quality efforts, align across sectors and foster deeper collaboration, connect existing air quality data to action, and co-develop a long-term roadmap for research priorities, funding strategies, and policy pathways.
Be part of a day dedicated to sharing knowledge, coordinating action, and building momentum toward a healthier Boston for all.

Welcome and Keynote Panel: A high-level keynote panel featuring leaders in public health, policy, and advocacy to ground the day in Boston’s current air quality landscape.

Lightning Talks: High-energy, 5-minute snapshots of current local projects.

Lunch with Topic Tables: Optional topic tables offering facilitated lunchtime conversations organized by theme, allowing for informal networking and focused peer-to-peer learning.

Breakout Discussions: Interactive small-group sessions focused on specific policy and technical intersections; topics to be announced.

Poster Session: An exhibition of recent research and community-led studies, providing a deep dive into local data and innovative air quality solutions.

Tabling Session: A resource-sharing block featuring city and state programs, non-profits, and technical partners offering tools and support for air quality and climate initiatives.

This summit was developed through a collaborative planning process led by our Summit Advisory Board. This dedicated group of experts—working in academia, advocacy, community organizing, environmental justice, policy, public health, and transportation—has been instrumental in shaping the summit's goals.
