John Meaney

Assistant Commissioner, Health Division

John began working with the City of Boston in 1987 he started with ISD Central Artery Project.  He was later promoted to Principal Inspector supervising Inspectors in the Environmental Division at ISD and later promoted to the Manager of the Environmental Division.  In 2014, John was promoted as the Assistant Commissioner of the Health Division.   

John Meaney’s 28 years of tireless service to the City of Boston has only made his passion, caring and commitment stronger.  He has seen the difference he makes in the lives of the residents of this great city.  Throughout the years John has embraced and mastered the interagency collaborations throughout the city; working closely with the Public Health Commission, Boston Housing Authority, the Elderly Commission and many others to join forces in accomplishing a very important task – serving the residents of Boston.  John is a true believer that his purpose in life is to help others.
