Kathleen Melendy grew up in New Hampshire but has spent most of her life living in Massachusetts. After developing a passion for gender equality as a teenager, Kathleen moved into the City of Boston to study Women’s and Gender Studies at Simmons College. While in school, she has worked with numerous women and girl-serving organizations including Girls’ LEAP, the Massachusetts Women’s Political Caucus, and the Cambridge Women’s Center. Kathleen recently added a minor in Management: Principled Leadership to her academics in order to better equip herself for one day running a nonprofit dedicated to women’s empowerment.
As the Communications & Marketing Fellow with the Mayor’s Office of Women’s Advancement, Kathleen is excited to work alongside a powerful group of women fighting for a better Boston.
