Family Bike Day

We had so much fun seeing everyone in East Boston on August 23, 2025. Looking forward to 2026!

Family Bike Day is a fun yearly event that includes on-bike skill-building activities and a family-friendly bike ride. We bring bikes and helmets for children and adults to borrow.

Stay tuned for plans for 2026!

2025 Family Bike Day

In the morning, children and adults participated in on-bike skill-building activities. We also had free bike checks available. At noon, the group biked (or walked) over to enjoy a picnic at the East Boston Memorial Stadium. Some riders had just learned to pedal that morning!

2024 Family Bike Day

We set up a pop-up Bike Town on the tennis courts at the Franklin Park Shattuck Picnic Grove. There were bikes and helmets available for children to borrow. Boston Bikes instructors taught bike skills and coordinated on-bike games and activities. We also hosted a learn-to-bike workshop for adults. Bikes Not Bombs offered free bike checks. We set up a table with art supplies so participants could decorate their bikes or helmets. After the activities ended, about 40 participants biked through the park to the Golf Clubhouse to enjoy lunch.
