Boston is home to a thriving startup ecosystem across various sectors.
A report by the US Chamber of Commerce and 1776 ranked Boston as the number 1 U.S. city to foster innovation and entrepreneurship. Bloomberg also named Massachusetts the most innovative state in the country for the second consecutive year.
Startup Boston x City of Boston Event Series
The Office of Economic Opportunity and Inclusion partners with Startup Boston to produce a monthly event series aimed at supporting first-time startup founders and early-stage entrepreneurs. This event series covers a range of topics for founders, from idea validation and co-founder matching to fundraising and navigating the startup community.
Startup Boston and the City of Boston’s Office of Economic Opportunity and Inclusion first launched this monthly event series in January 2024. Startup Boston was selected to be the leading partner in this series via a Request for Proposals process. In 2025, the City of Boston opened a Request for Proposals process for a similar startup business programming series in which Startup Boston was selected to be the lead event organizer and partner of this new series taking place from July 2025 through June 2026.
