E&I Academy

Join us for a transformative series of meticulously crafted learning experiences designed by the Equity and Inclusion Cabinet. Our goals are to equip our City of Boston colleagues with appropriate tools to better serve our diverse populations; build trust and belonging across lines of difference; and connect collaboratively to create a City for Everyone as E&I Ambassadors.

City of Boston staff embarking on this transformative journey will enrich their comprehension of equity and inclusion matters, and translate these insights directly into their daily responsibilities, thereby enhancing their capacity to serve the diverse residents of Boston, more effectively.

Why E&I Academy

First, in today's diverse and intersectional world, promoting equity and inclusion within our organization is a moral imperative and a strategic advantage. Second, many of our colleagues have asked for opportunities to learn how to serve residents of different communities better. Join us in this collective endeavor!

What Makes Up the Learning Series?

  • The Essentials: Cohorts

    • Action & Practice
      • Gain and try out skills and tools to better serve Boston’s diverse communities.
    • Once the Cohorts are completed, participants become E&I Ambassadors!
  • All-Stars: Capstone Projects & Summit
    • All-Star E&I Ambassadors apply what they learn during the Cohort into their day-to-day work to serve all our residents in Boston, and they present their reflections and work at the E&I Summit.
