2026 Deployables Day Walking Tour

On Wednesday, September 30, join Chief Climate Officer Brian Swett and Chief of Planning Kairos Shen on the Third Annual Deployables Day Walking Tour.

Learn about flood resilience in the here and now with both public and private deployable flood barrier owners. The tour will begin at 11:00 a.m. at Harbor Towers, 85 E India Row. Please register with an email you have regular access to, as we will communicating any route updates via email. 

The walking tour will have three main stops. First, we will visit Harbor Towers, where residents have come together to pool their funding and expertise to make two 40-story residential towers more resilient to coastal flooding and storm surge. Next, we will stop at Atlantic Wharf, where Boston Fire will be conducting a technical rescue drill over a deployable flood barrier with specialized vehicles and equipment in a flood scenario. Lastly, we will wrap up the tour by crossing the Fort Point Channel and visiting the City's latest deployable at Martin's Park. The route will be on paved sidewalks along the harbor and will be about one mile in length with frequent stops.
