Hyde Park

Learn more about a neighborhood that offers the best of both worlds.

Hyde Park is Boston’s southernmost neighborhood. It has all the amenities of the City in a suburban environment. The neighborhood was annexed into the City in 1912. The Neponset River runs through its center.

You can see the strong community spirit in the neighborhood’s many shops and restaurants. The Cleary and Logan Square business districts are along Hyde Park’s main streets, including:

  • Hyde Park Avenue
  • River Street, and
  • Fairmount Avenue.

The George Wright Golf Course is one of the two public courses in the area. City residents flock there in the spring and summer. Former Mayor Thomas M. Menino was also a lifelong resident of Hyde Park.
