Observe a Flag Ceremony at the memorial flag garden on the grounds of the Bunker Hill Monument.

The Charlestown Preservation Society invites you to Revolution Ignited, a spirited public celebration launching the Bunker Hill 250 commemoration week—continuing Boston’s and the Nation’s observance of America 250. 

Join neighbors, local leaders, and honored guests for an evening of live music, local food trucks, and an exciting showcase of events and stories.

Trace the pivotal moments around the Battle of Bunker Hill, and hear from special guests as they speak to the theme of an "unfinished revolution", rallying our community around the enduring power of our founding ideals and the work still to come.

More than 1,500 flags (American and British) will be on display in the Flag Garden.

United States Citizenship and Immigration Services will hold a naturalization ceremony at the Bunker Hill Monument. Two hundred-fifty new citizen candidates will be sworn in and receive a Passport to their National Parks. New citizens will be invited to plant the first flags of the Flag Garden. The Monument will be closed for the morning and reopen for climbing following the ceremony.

The Bunker Hill flag will be raised at the Monument followed by a speaking ceremony to recognize and honor the service and sacrifice of Charlestown veterans. Invited guests include Bunker Hill Parade Chief Marshal James Chambers and General Ralph Rizzo

Coffee and treats will be served. This event will be hosted by The National Parks of Boston and Bunker Hill Associates.

In memory of the Charlestown Heroes who lost their lives during battle.

Historians from the United States and United Kingdom will engage in a facilitated discussion reflecting on the Battle of Bunker Hill. Together, Authors Nathaniel Philbrick and Emma Hart will consider the lasting impacts of the battle on the Revolutionary War, its memory, and legacy from two nations’ perspectives.
