The Senior Advisor for Community Safety is responsible for building a set of summer specific recommendations around the various aspects of community safety - namely engagement of community, along with efforts across the city prioritizing the intervention and prevention of violence. In 2022, Isaac Yablo engaged with communities across the city for the first-ever community focused Summer Safety Plan. In 2023, the Community Safety team hosted nearly 30 meetings in 9 neighborhoods to help prepare, preview and publish the plan. This spring, the Community Safety Team will host 10 meetings across the city to engage with residents and community organizations on what they’d like to see in this year’s Plan for a Safe, Healthy and Active Summer. If you have questions about these meetings or weren’t able to make it and would like notes, don’t hesitate to reach out to the Community Safety Team at 617-635-2802
