Building Future Leaders Through Debate: Boston Debate League Marks 20 Years
For two decades, students across Greater Boston have sharpened their voices, strengthened their leadership skills, and learned the value of civic engagement through the power of debate.
The Council adopted a resolution offered by Councilor Flynn recognizing the 20th anniversary of the Boston Debate League and celebrating the organization’s contributions to students and communities throughout Greater Boston.
Founded in 2005, the Boston Debate League has served thousands of students through programs including After-School Debate, Debate-Inspired Classrooms, and Resolved. The organization focuses on developing critical thinking, research, communication, and leadership skills to help prepare students for college, careers, and civic life.
The resolution also highlights the organization’s partnerships with more than 30 schools across the region and its commitment to providing inclusive educational opportunities for diverse student populations.
With nearly 500 volunteers and more than 3,000 students served annually, the Boston Debate League continues to promote civil discourse, civic participation, and youth leadership throughout Greater Boston.
