The Mayor’s Office of Food Justice is committed to enhancing food security and streamlining access to fresh, local produce for all Boston residents. Following an extensive review of community feedback, OFJ is transitioning to a centralized enrollment model for the 2026 Summer Farmers Market Coupon Program.
To support this evolution, the OFJ is seeking a collaborative partner to manage the technical and logistical transition of the program. This initiative aims to establish a single, transparent point of entry, effectively removing systemic barriers to food access.
Opportunity Overview
The Mayor’s Office of Food Justice is moving toward a centralized enrollment system for the 2026 Farmers Market Coupon Program. Based on feedback from the community, we are looking for a collaborative partner to manage this transition - balancing technical innovation with person-centered project management.
OFJ is offering a grant of up to $44,000 for a qualified organization to lead the centralized enrollment, lottery selection, and distribution logistics for the 2026 Summer season. This role is pivotal in removing barriers to food access by creating a single, transparent point of entry for Boston residents.
Key Project Pillars:

Tech and Innovation: Building and launching a multilingual, secure online enrollment platform and a randomized lottery system.

Community Management: Serving as the primary communicator for applicants and providing vital logistical support to community based sites distributing coupons throughout the city.

Equity in Action: Ensuring low-income residents have agency in where they collect their coupons and providing clear, accessible updates on their application status.
