Join the 5th Annual Winter Walk

This year marks the 5th annual Winter Walk, a campaign raising awareness and funds to help end homelessness in the City of Boston.

The Winter Walk brings together organizations and programs focused on prevention, support, advocacy, health, shelter and care for Boston’s homeless population.

This year, Winter Walk participants will do the 2 mile walk between Friday, January 29 and Sunday, February 7, independently, as a family, or a part of a small team. Participants will gather online on Sunday, February 7 at 3 p.m. for a special virtual presentation with stories shared from some of Greater Boston’s homeless community.

Part of the Winter Walk this year includes a series of podcasts featuring partner organizations and unhoused members sharing their experiences, and questions to discuss while walking with family or friends.

The 2020 Winter Walk raised almost half a million dollars, 100% of which went directly to partner organizations and critical programs serving Boston’s homeless community.

On the night of the Boston 2020 Annual Homeless Census, there were almost 6,200 homeless individuals in Boston, either alone or part of families. This year will bring together again over 1,200 people to share, learn, and support one another.

The Council adopted a resolution recognizing February 7, 2021 as Winter Walk Day in the City of Boston.
