March is National Social Worker Month

According to the U.S. Department of Labor Bureau of Labor Statistics, social work is one of the fastest growing careers in the United States, with more than 715,000 social work jobs in 2020.

From childcare to senior care, criminal justice to disability rights, welfare to mental health, social workers ensure that the people most in need are looked after, cared for, and connected to the services that they need the most.

During this week’s City Council meeting, the Council recognized March as National Social Worker Month, honoring those who dedicate their careers to uplifting and supporting people in the most marginalized communities.
